Sounio is the golden (literally) place to go when it comes to full moon magic and a romantically mythical night. Not only are you next to the architecturally magnificent Poseidon’s (God of Sea) temple, but there is a beautiful view of the Aegean.

Mikrolimano at Piraeus (also a Riviera) is a bit further from Athens – still accessible by metro – and close to a historical district called Kastella, made up of neoclassical old houses. It’s also near to the main Attica’s port, where all the ships to the Greek islands depart (just saying). Plenty of bars for a drink, restaurants, and a low-key local identity for your go-to plans. You can chill with the inhabitants, watch the small fishing boats, and choose a bench to have a true moment of being in a folk area by the moon on your side.
