Athens lights up once again as the Christmas Village at Pedion tou Areos returns for the 2025–2026 festive season, delivering one of the city’s most complete and family-friendly Christmas experiences. Running from November 28, 2025 to January 7, 2026, this beloved urban Christmas village combines free live concerts, children’s performances, cultural tributes, and immersive holiday attractions, all in the heart of Athens.

Adding an extra layer of wonder to the Christmas Village at Pedion tou Areos, the Magic Lights (powered by Protergia) transform the park into a glowing festive dreamscape. This luminous Christmas trail is designed and curated by iconic lighting designer George Tellos, known for creating atmospheric installations that blend art, emotion, and light.
As dusk falls, visitors are invited to stroll through a carefully choreographed path of sparkling installations, glowing forms, and immersive light compositions. The experience is ideal for couples, families, and photography lovers, offering a travelling yet divine contrast to the live concerts and passing crowds.
The Protergia Magic Lights are open daily from 5pm to 10pm, inviting visitors to enjoy one of the most visually striking Christmas attractions in Athens, a must-see highlight that completes the Christmas Village experience with an extra magical and festive essence.

Magical Water World: A Fairytale Tribute to the Most Precious Gift
The Magical Water World returns to the Christmas Village at Pedion tou Areos with a powerful and poetic message: water is life. This year, the iconic waterfall reappears as a symbolic “magical rain,” inviting visitors to reflect, participate, and spread awareness through a unique, immersive experience.
Set in Rodonas, along a glowing path illuminated by thousands of lights, guests are guided into one of the most fairy-tale-inspired light shows of the season. At its heart, water flows continuously in a closed-loop system, reusing every single liter over and over again, highlighting the importance of sustainability and responsible water use.
