Athens is ready to roll again! The Athens Cycling Tour is back for its 29th edition, and once more, the city’s streets will transform into a joyful parade of wheels, smiles, and sunshine. This beloved event has become much more than a race but a celebration of community, movement, and the rhythm of urban life.
Every year, thousands of Athenians and visitors take part, from early risers in sleek cycling gear to families with kids pedaling along in colorful helmets. Together, they rediscover the city from a new perspective, gliding past ancient landmarks, leafy boulevards, and buzzing neighborhoods that pulse with life and music.

This year’s tour invites everyone to take part even if you are a seasoned cyclist chasing that perfect cadence or simply someone who loves the idea of cruising through Athens at your own pace. There are two routes to choose from, so there’s something for every level of rider:
- 16 km route — Starting from Syntagma Square at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, 19 October 2025, this longer route promises a historically inspiring journey through the heart of Athens.
- 7 km route — Beginning from Leoforos Amalias at 11:00 a.m., this shorter ride is perfect for families, beginners, or anyone who just wants to feel the city’s festive spirit.
Both routes offer a safe, inclusive, and lifetime experience. And the best part? Participation is free!
